Confidentiality

Confidentiality: All counselling is confidential. There are however some limits to confidentiality. These include:

• Both Eddie Fennell and Nancy K. Hall have access to all clinical records.
• Any supervision we have is done on a confidential basis and the client's name is never used.
• If the counsellor evaluates that the client is a danger to self, others or the counsellor.
• A declaration of abuse involving a minor (under 18) or any other child protection issue that may emerge.

In the case where we deem it necessary to breach confidentiality, we will contact your GP, family member or friend. Whenever possible this will be done with the client's knowledge and it is aimed at making you feel cared for and safe at all times. It is an extension of care rather than a breach of confidentiality.
